Advice for my Younger Self

If I have to rework going back 20 years, I will reaffirm this perspective to myself. I picked a few from recent reads.

  • Estimate your work/plans - What percentage of the time do you finish your work early? What percentage of the time are you finishing late? - Remember the saying, under-promise, and over-deliver? Predictability of tasks, How well our estimates and actuals
  • Speak up - It's easier to follow the flow. Speak up if you have questions
  • Do the hardest things - The hard things are our margin. True in business, true in life. What are the core skills you can do much better than others, Get good at it, and be looked up to it? Stand out and aim to be in the Top 5%, 3% of your passion.
  • Think Customer + Domain + Product - All 3 perspectives - Completeness and quality speak for it. 80% thinking where all it fails, scalability, Design, and 20% ensuring you code all possible scenarios.

Learning never ends

Always ensure you can improve upon, Your next version is better than your current version

Keep Learning!!!
